Traffic Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic and transportation execution across the distribution center network to improve shipment consolidation and visibility.
• Execute and optimize routing through the Transportation Management System (TMS) to enhance cost and delivery efficiency.
• Oversee shipment tracking, proactive communication, and resolution of OSD (Over, Short, Damaged) claims with carriers.
• Ensure documentation compliance, including BOL accuracy, pallet counts, and packing slips.
• Partner with DRP and Transportation teams to support network flow and inventory positioning.
• Provide direction, coaching, and training to Traffic Coordinators and Clerks.
• Monitor and drive key operational metrics such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), freight claims reduction, and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or distribution center operations.
• Proven experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS); RXO experience is highly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with operational reporting.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Des Plaines, IL, every business day.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
