Traffic Anchor/Reporter

Responsibilities

• Prepare afternoon and evening reports using dynamic graphics
• Gather news and research up-to-the-minute traffic conditions
• Provide concise live traffic reports for afternoon and evening newscasts
• Communicate critical traffic information to producers and anchors promptly
• Deliver traffic updates across digital platforms, including the station website, mobile app, and social media
• Produce transportation-related stories and present information from the field
• Produce and anchor breaking news updates as directed by news management

Requirements

• Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television station
• Ability to ad-lib effectively during breaking news situations
• Proficiency with social media and basic computer skills
• Familiarity with local street and highway names and directions
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
