Trading Operations Developer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support production trading strategies across multiple asset classes and exchanges
• Investigate and resolve production incidents including strategy failures and connectivity issues
• Manage trading application lifecycle, configuration changes, and risk limit updates
• Support clearing and post-trade operations, including trade reconciliation and broker coordination
• Manage server infrastructure, including OS upgrades, capacity planning, and certificate management
• Build and maintain monitoring dashboards, automation scripts, and operational tooling
• Communicate incident status and trading impact to portfolio managers and senior management
• Identify process improvement opportunities and deliver automation to reduce manual intervention

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Practical knowledge of Python and Bash scripting
• Practical experience with Linux systems administration
• SQL proficiency for querying production databases
• Strong problem-solving skills under time pressure
• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Trading systems or financial operations experience
• Knowledge of FIX protocol and exchange connectivity
• Experience with Java (reading logs, configs, stack traces)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Icinga, Nagios, or Grafana
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, multicast, TLS)
• Experience with version control (Git, SVN)
• Frontend development skills (React, JavaScript) for tooling and dashboards
• Understanding of trading concepts including order lifecycle, clearing, and risk management
