About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage market risks for Natural Gas, Power, and LNG trading activities, with a specific focus on North American Power trading
- Provide risk analysis and oversight for both regional and global trading activities
- Execute daily risk control processes, including trade entries, data reconciliation, and monitoring of Positions, Mark-To-Market (MTM) values, P&L, and P&L Attribution
- Analyze and validate Value at Risk (VaR) results to ensure adherence to established risk limits by commodity, region, and strategy
- Partner with Commercial teams (Trading, Origination, Structuring) to identify, quantify, and manage market and operational risks
- Present risk analysis insights to Senior management to inform strategic business decisions
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in Market Risk within commodity trading (Power, Natural Gas, LNG, renewables, or environmental products)
- Deep market knowledge of North American Gas and Power markets
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis techniques for modeling risk and uncertainty
- Proficiency with R, Python, SQL, VBA, Tableau, and/or Power BI
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills for interacting with senior management
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis
