Trading Market Risk Advisor

Responsibilities

• Support Freight Trading desks by monitoring and managing market risk associated with trading activities
• Provide daily risk analysis, including PnL, exposures, VaR, and mark-to-market accounting
• Deliver high-impact market risk insights through daily reporting of trading positions and risk limit utilization
• Lead daily oversight of exposure risk, identifying and resolving trade booking discrepancies and data integrity issues
• Utilize advanced risk analytics such as stress testing and scenario analysis to enhance portfolio transparency
• Evaluate complex commodity transactions and calculate valuation adjustments to ensure regulatory compliance
• Act as a strategic partner to traders by providing timely alerts and recommendations on hedging options

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• Significant professional experience in energy trading or financial/energy risk management
• Strong analytical skills and deep knowledge of financial instruments
• Proficiency in statistical modeling and decision analysis techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree such as a Master's, MBA, CFA, or Ph.D. in Energy or Financial Risk Management
• Strong understanding of financial analysis applied to energy transacting
• Experience with ETRM systems and advanced risk analytics tools
