Trading and Vessel Operator

Responsibilities

• Execute trade administration for bulk carriers, containers, and multimodal transportation.
• Manage day-to-day operations of time-chartered vessels, including issuing voyage instructions and monitoring performance against charter party terms.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all data in IMOS to facilitate financial closure and performance management.
• Coordinate supply chain schedules and daily updates with suppliers, customers, ship owners, and port agents.
• Handle laytime calculations, freight invoices, and cargo/hire/freight claims.
• Mitigate and resolve trade and voyage incidents or risks under the guidance of the Trading and Chartering teams.
• Support month-end closing activities and reconcile IMOS with SAP regarding receivables, payables, and bunker fuels.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in trading, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain logistics.
• Proficiency in using IMOS software for voyage planning and P&L management.
• Strong knowledge of dry bulk operations (specifically Handy/Supramax) and maritime regulations.
• Demonstrated expertise in Laytime calculations.
• Solid understanding of commercial shipping, including Charter Parties, Bills of Lading, and Marine Claims.
• Degree or Diploma in Shipping, Maritime, International Trading, or a related commercial field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mastery of Mandarin or Hindi.
• Experience with Trade Finance tools such as Letters of Credit and documentary collections.
• Knowledge of the IMSBC Code.
