Trades Helper - HVAC

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining all air conditioning, ventilation, and air handling equipment
• Support the maintenance of control mechanisms for HVAC systems and boiler systems
• Diagnose operating problems and assist in repairing or replacing parts as needed
• Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies, materials, and tools
• Follow outlined procedures for the requisition of replacement parts
• Operate district vehicles to and from work destinations and ensure proper care of assigned equipment
• Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for students and staff

Requirements

• Valid Texas Driver’s License (copy must be submitted with application)
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting
• Ability to work in various conditions, including exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, and working on ladders

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal or technical HVAC training provided by the industry
• Previous experience in HVAC work
