Trades Helper - Electrician

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus control equipment, and lighting systems.
• Use testing instruments, such as an ohm-meter, to test circuit continuity and ensure electrical safety.
• Observe installed equipment and systems to detect hazards or the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Comply with all safety regulations, electrical codes, and hazardous material laws.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Work extra-curricular functions and irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as requested (e.g., football games, election days).
• Attend meetings as directed by supervisors.

Requirements

• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clear driving record (copy must be submitted with application).
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including walking, standing, and climbing.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and carrying.
• Ability to work in various environments, including exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, and working on ladders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical systems repairs, maintenance, and installations.
• Previous experience related to electrical trades or facility maintenance.
