Trades Helper - Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Assist the Carpenter in general repair work on buildings using standard techniques and tools
• Perform repairs on doors, windows, floor tile, wall tile, and ceiling tile
• Execute temporary repairs due to vandalism or disasters to protect school property and ensure safety
• Repair furniture and fixtures as directed by supervisors
• Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and assist in the care of school vehicles and equipment
• Support the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment
• Work extra-curricular functions and irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as requested

Requirements

• Successful experience in general carpentry work
• Proficiency with electric saws, electric drills, and hammers
• Ability to outline work schedules
• Valid Texas driver’s license and a clear driving record
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting
• Ability to work in various environments, including exposure to dust, chemicals, and extreme temperatures
