About the role
Responsibilities
- Correspond with foreign associates regarding searching, filing, maintaining, and enforcing client trademarks
- Search trademark registrations in the USPTO and various foreign trademark offices
- Conduct research to gather and store information regarding trademark use for enforcement and maintenance
- Prepare, file, and monitor trademark applications and draft responses to office actions
- Draft oppositions to applications for conflicting trademarks and draft affidavits of use
- Review and revise affidavits, declarations, and oppositions to ensure accuracy
- Review and organize files while monitoring the docket for upcoming deadlines
- Assist with copyright filings and the preparation of trademark-related agreements
Requirements
- College degree, paralegal certificate, or relevant work experience
- General knowledge of intellectual property filing and prosecution rules and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work professionally and confidentially with various stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with USPTO online tools, including TEAS, the Assignment Branch, and the TTAB
- Two or more years of specific trademark experience
- Experience with domestic and foreign filing
- Experience using the Anaqua docketing system
