Trade/International Trade Specialist

Responsibilities

• Determine import classifications (HTSUS/HS) and export classifications (ECCN/ECN) for hardware, software, and technology.
• Maintain auditable classification records, technical notes, and decision trees.
• Update item master data within ERP and PLM systems.
• Escalate potential red flags, end-use/end-user risks, and sanctions concerns to leadership.
• Build and maintain high-quality classification datasets ensuring data consistency and traceability.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to collect technical specifications.
• Support internal and external audits with well-documented classification files.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Law, or Data Management) or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with the ability to produce precise professional documentation.
• Strong data management skills with experience maintaining structured datasets.
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., advanced functions, Power Query, or similar analytics tools).

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of international trade compliance experience involving HTS/HS and CCL/ECCN.
• Exposure to EU dual-use and UK export control regimes.
• Familiarity with ERP/PLM environments such as SAP, Oracle, or Siemens Teamcenter.
• Experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau for compliance reporting.
• Understanding of sanctions/restricted party screening (OFAC/EU/UK).
