About the role

Responsibilities

  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate import/export updates impacting North American cross-border requirements.
  • Manage daily compliance operations, including providing guidance and coordinating with customs brokers and third-party providers.
  • Perform trade classification and tariff analysis using HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN.
  • Ensure import documentation accuracy, support entry filing, and resolve import holds.
  • Build and maintain compliance monitoring frameworks, including audit and reporting structures.
  • Drive process improvement and automation to optimize trade compliance systems and data standards.
  • Maintain operational procedures by documenting and updating SOPs and work instructions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Tax, and Legal to close process gaps.
  • Track and report performance metrics regarding compliance accuracy, transit times, and broker performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of data analysis experience using tools such as Excel, SQL, or Tableau.
  • 3+ years of experience in import/export compliance.
  • Foundational knowledge of U.S. and Canada trade regulations.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as engineering, supply chain, or procurement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Computer Science.
  • Experience in customs operations, compliance specialist, or customs agent roles.
  • Experience with Tariff Management & Mitigation processes (e.g., Section 232/301).
  • Experience performing trade classifications (HTS codes, ECCNs, and Country of Origin).
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Export/Compliance Specialist (CES/CCS) credential.
