Trade Desk Specialist

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary escalation point for complex client inquiries regarding trading, connectivity, and market data.
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated issues related to APIs (FIX, ITCH), trading behavior, and platform functionality.
• Perform in-depth technical diagnostics using Linux command-line tools, log analysis, and network debugging utilities.
• Utilize SQL to query operational and trading data for issue investigation and performance analysis.
• Lead daily and weekly pre-market system health checks to ensure platform readiness.
• Proactively monitor trading activity, market data feeds, and system dashboards to identify and triage technical anomalies.
• Collaborate with Technology teams to investigate issues, contribute to post-incident reviews, and drive systemic fixes.
• Support new client onboarding, including FIX connectivity certification and API testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in a trading desk, financial services, or technical operations environment.
• Proficiency in Linux, including command-line diagnostics and log analysis.
• Solid SQL skills for querying and analyzing trading and operational data.
• Working knowledge of the FIX protocol and experience supporting FIX-connected clients.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, latency, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues under time pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a follow-the-sun or 24x5 trading support model.
• Familiarity with ITCH or other market data protocols.
• Exposure to Linux performance analysis and system health tooling.
• Python or additional scripting experience for operational automation.
• Experience supporting bank, buy-side, or prime broker clients in an electronic trading context.
