Trade Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and reviewing import documentation for compliance with CBP regulations
• Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate shipment processing
• Support product classification using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
• Maintain customs data in ERP systems, including HTS codes and country of origin
• Track and monitor import shipments for timely customs clearance
• Participate in post-entry audits and internal compliance reviews
• Maintain proper recordkeeping in accordance with CBP requirements
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary documentation and product information
• Stay current on trade regulations and participate in training sessions

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in customs compliance, logistics, or international trade
• Skilled understanding of U.S. import regulations and HTSUS
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with customs brokers or freight forwarders
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
• Knowledge of free trade agreements, country of origin rules, or duty drawback programs
• Obtained or currently in the process of obtaining a Customs Broker License (CLB)
