Trade Compliance Officer

Responsibilities

• Support the global trade compliance framework, ensuring alignment between Australian requirements and global standards
• Assist with ensuring all import and export activities comply with Australian regulations and international regimes (including US ITAR/EAR and European regulations)
• Act as the regional point of contact for Australia, providing guidance to global stakeholders on local export controls
• Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes in Australian export control and customs regulations
• Assist with export control classifications for goods, technology, and software
• Support the preparation, drafting, and submission of export/import permits under the Australian regulatory framework
• Maintain accurate record-keeping and export registers to meet regulatory requirements
• Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, training, and audit readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
• 1–2 years of experience in trade compliance, export controls, customs brokerage, or a related regulatory role
• Demonstrable knowledge of Australian export control and customs regulations
• Experience working within a multi-jurisdictional or global trade compliance environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the defence or aerospace industry
