About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and install railroad tracks to ensure safe and efficient train movement
  • Handle and transport track materials and equipment using appropriate load/unload devices
  • Perform regular maintenance on tracks, including repairing, installing, and removing components
  • Maintain the trackbed by removing, replacing, and tamping ballast
  • Operate equipment safely to drive spikes, tighten/loosen track bolts, and use pullers
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, operational guidelines, and FRA requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Acceptable driving record per Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass a Physical Ability Test (PAT)
  • Ability to meet FMCSA medical requirements for commercial motor vehicle drivers
  • Successful completion of an English language assessment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in Railroad Maintenance of Way work
  • Experience in a construction-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, including construction or farm machinery
  • Strong welding skills or possession of a welding certificate
  • Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions and flexibility for on-call, overtime, and various shifts
