Track Laborer Driver Eligible

Responsibilities

• Handle, unload, and move track materials and equipment from rail cars, carts, or trucks
• Remove and replace rails, rail anchors, spikes, ballast, ties, and other components
• Inspect tracks, track beds, and right-of-way for defects or problems
• Maintain track beds by cutting vegetation and clearing dust or snow from movable parts
• Operate company vehicles and heavy equipment as required
• Adhere to all company, industry, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) safety rules and regulations

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
• Ability to successfully complete an English proficiency assessment
• Ability to pass a Physical Ability Test (PAT)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs and push/pull up to 119 lbs
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and diverse weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class A or Class B
• Minimum of one year of experience in Railroad Maintenance of Way work
• Experience operating heavy construction or farm machinery
• Proficiency in welding or possession of a welding certificate
• Experience working in construction-like environments
