Track Assistant Coach

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in developing student-athlete skills, discipline, and sportsmanship
• Schedule and lead regular, structured, and effective practices throughout the season
• Supervise students at all times and oversee the safety conditions of athletic facilities
• Maintain accurate statistics, records, and results for the program
• Enforce all APS and MHSAA policies, including the Athletic Code of Conduct
• Monitor student academic achievement and eligibility for competition
• Coordinate with the athletic trainer and parents regarding injuries and player status
• Manage the distribution, care, and supervision of athletic equipment
• Assist with fundraising, fee collection, and maintaining financial records

Requirements

• Must hold or obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written forms
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical activities required for coaching
• Ability to work in various environments, including both indoors and outdoors

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Arts degree
• Valid teaching certificate
• Experience in physical education, coaching, or sports medicine
