Tower Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural condition assessments of tower systems, including foundations, steel members, connection plates, and bolts
• Inspect appurtenances such as microwave dishes, communications antennas, cables, junction boxes, and grounding systems
• Adjust tower guy cable tension and realign towers as necessary
• Complete detailed checklists and document findings using photographic evidence
• Meet with local tower ownership, clients, and landowners to discuss project status
• Debrief customers and management on assessment findings
• Consult with management and engineers to assist in recommending corrective actions for tower improvements

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in tower field work
• High school diploma or GED
• Comfort climbing towers up to 400 feet in height
• Strong safety mindset and a proven safe work history
• Proficient computer skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or recent tower climb and rescue credentials
• Experience operating theodolites or total stations
• Experience with guy tensioning
