Tower Technician III

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule work activities to efficiently utilize crew members and equipment
• Lead crews in tower construction, antenna installations, and routine maintenance
• Ensure crew profitability, quality of workmanship, and strict adherence to safety protocols
• Climb various heights on multiple structure types, including self-support and guyed towers
• Perform installation of antennas, mounts, cable ladders, and microwave systems
• Conduct tailgate meetings, complete safety logs, and manage weekly time sheets/expense reports
• Mentor and train tower hands to enhance team performance
• Troubleshoot electronic components from cell/microwave sites to lighting systems

Requirements

• Proven experience in tower construction, antenna/line installation, and microwave installations
• Proficiency in rigging, including the use of ropes, blocks, and tackles
• Experience with Sweep & PIM testing (Anritsu gear preferred) and Fiber scope/OTDR testing
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain DOT physical certification
• Ability to pass a background check for government security clearances
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to three to six weeks at a time) and work non-structured schedules
• Physical ability to lift 50lbs+ and work in adverse weather at heights up to 500 feet

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL Class A certification
• Gin pole experience
• Experience with transits, compasses, and setting azimuths
