Tower Technician III

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule work activities to efficiently utilize assigned crew members and equipment
• Lead crews in tower construction, antenna/line installations, microwave installations, and tower modifications
• Ensure crew profitability, quality of workmanship, and strict adherence to safety protocols
• Climb various heights on multiple structure types, including self-support and guyed towers
• Perform routine and special circumstance tower maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic components
• Conduct tailgate meetings, complete safety logs, and manage weekly timesheets and expense reports
• Mentor and train tower hands to enhance team performance and uphold industry standards

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain DOT physical certification (CDL Class A is a plus)
• OSHA 30 certification
• Competent Climber and Competent Rescue certifications
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Proven experience with Sweep & PIM testing (Anritsu gear preferred)
• Experience with Fiber scope and OTDR testing
• Strong rigging ability and knowledge of tower and fall protection safety
• Ability to pass a background check for government security clearances
• Ability to lift 50lbs+ and work in adverse weather conditions at heights up to 500 feet
• Willingness to travel extensively, including stays of three to six weeks
