About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the erection, construction, and maintenance of communication tower sites, including monopoles, self-support, guyed towers, and rooftops.
- Supervise tower crew personnel (up to 4 members) and ensure strict adherence to OSHA requirements and company safety procedures.
- Perform tower-top work including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, and installation of antennas, RRUs, cabling, and masts.
- Execute coax, fiber, line, and hybrid cable installations, including connector installation, weatherproofing, and labeling.
- Complete grounding, terminations, and cadwelding as required.
- Conduct daily Jobsite Hazard Assessments (JHA) and lead safety meetings.
- Manage tool inventory and maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the job site and vehicles.
- Document work through photography and technical readings (plumb, tilt, azimuth) for close-out packages.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 3 years of experience in tower climbing, stacking, and rigging.
- OSHA 10hr certification (OSHA 30hr preferred).
- RF Awareness Certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to climb and perform work at heights up to 500 feet for extended periods.
- Physical ability to lift 50lbs+ and pull own body weight plus equipment up vertical towers.
- Willingness to travel 50-90% of the time, including out-of-state travel for several months at a time.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind).
Preferred Qualifications
- Related trade school education.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- OSHA 30hr Training Certification.
- Successful completion of Safety in Rigging/Competent Rigger coursework and industrial First Aid and Rescue Training.
