About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assign, supervise, and evaluate the work performed by Associate Youth Development Specialists
  • Implement and operationalize the behavior management incentive program
  • Review incident reports and notify the Movement Control and Communications Unit (MCCU)
  • Coordinate the delivery of services to youth throughout the detention facility
  • Assist in scheduling and assigning staff to maintain adequate coverage
  • Conduct individual and group conferences regarding agency policies and Safe Crisis Management techniques
  • Prepare performance evaluations and process City Time in accordance with agency policy
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to plan for youth placement and safety

Requirements

  • Must be permanent (not provisional) in the civil service title Associate Youth Development Specialist
  • High school diploma and three years of experience working with juveniles (ages 10-24) in institutional or community settings, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to drive agency vehicles for youth transportation
  • Availability to work based on operational needs, including holidays and weekends
