Permanent Associate Youth Development Specialist status, Experience working with juveniles ages 10-24, Ability to drive agency vehicles, Flexible schedule including holidays and weekends
About the role
Responsibilities
- Assign, supervise, and evaluate the work performed by Associate Youth Development Specialists
- Implement and operationalize the behavior management incentive program
- Review incident reports and notify the Movement Control and Communications Unit (MCCU)
- Coordinate the delivery of services to youth throughout the detention facility
- Assist in scheduling and assigning staff to maintain adequate coverage
- Conduct individual and group conferences regarding agency policies and Safe Crisis Management techniques
- Prepare performance evaluations and process City Time
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams to plan for youth placement and safety
Requirements
- Must be permanent (not provisional) in the civil service title Associate Youth Development Specialist
- High school diploma and three years of experience working with juveniles (ages 10-24) in a group or institutional setting, OR
- Associate degree with approximately two years of relevant experience, OR
- Baccalaureate degree with approximately one and a half years of relevant experience
- Ability to drive agency vehicles for youth transportation
- Availability to work holidays and weekends based on operational needs
