About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plant-wide torque control strategies for critical and safety-related fastenings
  • Lead the selection, deployment, and optimization of torque tools and controllers, including DC tools and nutrunners
  • Maintain torque-related process control documentation, such as work instructions and torque standards
  • Monitor performance metrics like first-time quality and scrap to drive continuous improvement and corrective actions
  • Investigate torque-related quality issues using structured problem-solving methods to identify root causes
  • Provide technical engineering support for new product launches, line moves, and process changes
  • Coordinate calibration, preventive maintenance, and repairs for torque tools in partnership with maintenance teams
  • Develop and deliver training for operators, team leaders, and maintenance staff on torque fundamentals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, manufacturing, or technical discipline
  • Minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations
  • U.S. Person status (citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) or eligibility for export control authorization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply structured methods to data
  • Proficiency with standard office software and ability to learn plant-specific systems
  • Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment, including potential off-shift or weekend work during launches

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with torque-controlled fastening equipment and DC tools
  • Experience in automotive, defense, or similar complex assembly environments
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, control plans, and layered process audits
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
