Tooling Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maximize the reliability, availability, and safe operation of die cast tooling within production operations
• Monitor tooling status, including spares, die condition, engineering changes, and core locations
• Lead structured root-cause investigations for repeat, chronic, or high-impact tooling issues
• Develop and implement corrective action plans to reduce downtime and extend tooling life
• Manage the tooling replacement process, including procurement, documentation, and inventory levels
• Act as a subject matter expert for SMED improvements related to die systems and changeover optimization
• Partner with leadership to execute cost optimization initiatives and MTTR reductions
• Provide real-time technical support to Production and represent the Tool Room in departmental meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related engineering field
• OR 3+ years of experience in metallurgy, metal casting, or die cast tooling engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in die cast tooling design
