About the role
Responsibilities
- Maximize the reliability, availability, and safe operation of die cast tooling within production operations
- Monitor tooling status, including spares, die condition, engineering changes, and core locations
- Lead structured root-cause investigations for repeat, chronic, or high-impact tooling issues
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to reduce downtime and extend tooling life
- Manage the tooling replacement process, including procurement, documentation, and inventory levels
- Act as a subject matter expert for SMED improvements related to die systems and changeover optimization
- Partner with leadership to execute cost optimization initiatives and MTTR reductions
- Provide real-time technical support to Production and represent the Tool Room in departmental meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related engineering field
- OR 3+ years of experience in metallurgy, metal casting, or die cast tooling engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in die cast tooling design
