About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection and process monitoring of tool fabrication to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and procedures
- Conduct periodic tooling inspections using physical and digital definitions to interpret data for compliance
- Utilize 3D measurement and analysis systems, such as Laser Trackers
- Identify, investigate, and document nonconformance of materials, hardware, and tool assemblies
- Verify that all parts and assemblies meet tool drawings and fabrication orders
- Maintain FOD (Foreign Object Debris) requirements through regular walks and surveillance
- Perform proof load tests and inspections on shop hoist tools
- Conduct receiving inspections to ensure purchased parts meet specified requirements
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector
- 3+ years of experience in tool fabrication, manufacturing, or a related environment
- 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- 3+ years of experience using Computer Aided Measuring Systems (CAMS)
- 3+ years of experience operating Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- High school graduate or GED
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical trade school certificate, degree, or completed apprenticeship
- 5+ years of experience operating CAMS, CMM, Laser Trackers, or Laser Scanners
- 5+ years of experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
