Tooling Mechanic-Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection and process monitoring of tool fabrication to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and procedures
• Conduct periodic tooling inspections using physical and digital definitions to interpret data for compliance
• Utilize 3D measurement and analysis systems, such as Laser Trackers
• Identify, investigate, and document nonconformance of materials, hardware, and tool assemblies
• Verify that all parts and assemblies meet tool drawings and fabrication orders
• Maintain FOD (Foreign Object Debris) requirements through regular walks and surveillance
• Perform proof load tests and inspections on shop hoist tools
• Conduct receiving inspections to ensure purchased parts meet specified requirements

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector
• 3+ years of experience in tool fabrication, manufacturing, or a related environment
• 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• 3+ years of experience using Computer Aided Measuring Systems (CAMS)
• 3+ years of experience operating Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• High school graduate or GED
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical trade school certificate, degree, or completed apprenticeship
• 5+ years of experience operating CAMS, CMM, Laser Trackers, or Laser Scanners
• 5+ years of experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
