About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the development and qualification of mold tooling at the Cookeville Manufacturing Plant to ensure cost-effective, high-quality production.
- Liaise with external tool makers and internal departments to ensure project alignment, cost control, and timely delivery.
- Provide technical direction, guidance, and expertise to team members regarding part and tooling design.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans in collaboration with project leads and management.
- Communicate technical details, progress, and timelines effectively to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Interpret conceptual designs, blueprints, and engineering models using CAD software.
- Support shop personnel in understanding tool design drawings and provide technical training as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma with Technical or Vocational training in Toolmaking or Die Design.
- Proven experience designing and manufacturing plastic injection mold tools.
- 5 years of experience in 2D/3D CAD modeling.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX and AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of the material properties and characteristics of various metals and plastics.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Inventor or Solidworks.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
