Tooling Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the development and qualification of mold tooling at the Cookeville Manufacturing Plant to ensure cost-effective, high-quality production.
• Liaise with external tool makers and internal departments to ensure project alignment, cost control, and timely delivery.
• Provide technical direction, guidance, and expertise to team members regarding part and tooling design.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans in collaboration with project leads and management.
• Communicate technical details, progress, and timelines effectively to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
• Interpret conceptual designs, blueprints, and engineering models using CAD software.
• Support shop personnel in understanding tool design drawings and provide technical training as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with Technical or Vocational training in Toolmaking or Die Design.
• Proven experience designing and manufacturing plastic injection mold tools.
• 5 years of experience in 2D/3D CAD modeling.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of the material properties and characteristics of various metals and plastics.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Inventor or Solidworks.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
