Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom tooling, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software
- Own the fabrication, assembly, wiring, and validation of tooling, fixtures, and test systems
- Ensure tooling design meets safety, ergonomic, and operational requirements
- Collaborate with machinists, welders, engineers, and technicians to optimize designs
- Provide troubleshooting for production tool issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of tooling or fixture design experience
- Proficient in a 3D CAD package (Solidworks, CATIA, NX, etc.)
- Knowledge of GD&T and machining processes
- Evidence of exceptional ability through prior projects or portfolio
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or similar complex industries
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing for rapid tooling
- Experience in fast-paced, highly technical engineering environments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and ergonomic design
