About the role
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain small dies, fixtures, and other tooling according to specifications
- Analyze specifications and lay out metal stock
- Set up and operate machine tools
- Fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with safety regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a machinist with small stamping dies
- Extensive experience with drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes
- Solid knowledge of trigonometry and shop math
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work with little supervision and handle standby/emergency overtime
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of troubleshooting in die operation and assembly
- Experience in welding
- Metallurgic knowledge regarding metal properties
- Experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
