Tool & Die Machinist

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain small dies, fixtures, and other tooling according to specifications
• Analyze specifications and lay out metal stock
• Set up and operate machine tools
• Fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
• Maintain a safe working environment and comply with safety regulations

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a machinist with small stamping dies
• Extensive experience with drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes
• Solid knowledge of trigonometry and shop math
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work with little supervision and handle standby/emergency overtime

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of troubleshooting in die operation and assembly
• Experience in welding
• Metallurgic knowledge regarding metal properties
• Experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
