About the role
Responsibilities
- Design manufacturing and assembly tooling, fixtures, jigs, and gauges for aircraft interior components
- Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD software
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, production, quality, and program teams to define tooling requirements
- Ensure tooling designs meet aerospace standards, safety requirements, and ergonomic considerations
- Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and risk assessments
- Work with suppliers and internal fabrication teams to manufacture, validate, and implement tooling
- Troubleshoot tooling issues on the shop floor and implement continuous improvement solutions
- Maintain tooling documentation, configuration control, and revision management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 3–7 years of experience in tooling design, preferably within the aerospace industry
- Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials, including composites, aluminum, and plastics
- Experience supporting composite, sheet metal, or interior assembly processes
