Tool Designer II

Responsibilities

• Design and detail complex molds, fixtures, and tools
• Troubleshoot production processes and provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing departments
• Check mold designs and product drawings for form, fit, and function
• Prepare quote requests and select appropriate vendors
• Work with machine shop and production personnel to ensure proper tooling fit and usage
• Inspect received tooling and compare measurements against design drawings
• Develop safety and process procedures and assist in training employees on usage
• Use mathematical formulas to confirm design requirements and material properties

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in tooling or mechanical design
• At least 4 years of experience using CAD software in a machine shop environment
• At least 2 years of experience with SolidWorks modeling software
• At least 4 years of experience with basic control electronics and programming
• Proficiency in trigonometry and basic mathematical skills
• US Citizenship is required (Dual citizenship cannot be accepted)
• Ability to work overtime when needed
