Tool and Die Repair Group Leader

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all scheduled and unscheduled die, fixture, and machine repairs
• Coordinate schedules, follow up on assignments, and train new apprentices
• Collaborate with facility departments to provide input and direction for production operations
• Identify and upgrade training and educational needs for Tool Room personnel
• Maintain documentation to monitor cost effectiveness, track labor force, and establish trends
• Aggressively reduce rework and scrap to improve profit margins
• Maintain quality and production standards following ISO and company procedures
• Operate lift trucks, cranes, welders, and other equipment to perform Tool Room duties
• Assist in the selection, qualification, and development of Tool Room personnel

Requirements

• State approved Tool & Die Journeyman’s card (or ability to acquire within 6 months)
• Minimum of two years of experience in a Tool Room department
• Strong background in both new tool construction and tool maintenance
• Proven experience in project development and management
• Valid lift truck operator's license or ability to complete training
• Working knowledge of machining, stamping, fabrication, and assembly operations
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in project management through successful completion
• Ability to develop, implement, or improve preventative maintenance measures
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
