Tool and Die Maker

Responsibilities

• Develop dies, tools, and processes as required to support production.
• Build replacement tools and dies for production use.
• Maintain, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot robust tooling for equipment.
• Provide assistance, guidance, and advice to Junior Tool & Die Makers and Apprentices.
• Liaise with internal departments for design input, fabrication, and modifications.
• Ensure timely completion of repairs, new dies, and fixtures to prevent production interruptions.
• Follow all lock out/tag out procedures and company Health, Safety & Environment policies.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and for all die parts.

Requirements

• Tool & Die Maker certificate and/or 5 years of related work experience.
• Thorough knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Proficiency in operating tool room and production equipment, including grinding, milling, and lathe operation.
• Strong knowledge of GD+T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for dies and cutting tools.
• Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Good English communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work flexible shifts and hours as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with end forming, crimping, and bending tools.
