About the role

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate manual and CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and grinders
  • Fabricate, modify, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD designs, and GD&T specifications
  • Perform reverse engineering of parts in real time
  • Inspect and measure finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators to ensure tight tolerances
  • Conduct routine and predictive maintenance on equipment and machines
  • Troubleshoot and adjust dies and tooling for optimal performance
  • Apply knowledge of metallurgy to understand how metals react to various temperatures and pressures
  • Manage work order completions, spreadsheets, and schedules using Microsoft Office

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience as a machinist or tool and die maker
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and GD&T
  • Hands-on experience with both CNC and manual tools
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship or journeyman certification in tool and die or machining
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as FutureCam, MasterCam, or SolidWorks
  • Ability to read, understand, and edit basic CNC programs
