Tool and Die Machinist

Responsibilities

• Repair, fabricate, and maintain molds, fixtures, assembly tools, and production equipment
• Set up, adjust, and operate conventional tool room equipment including mills, lathes, and surface grinders
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications
• Create and program CNC code for Fryer CNC controls on mill and lathe machines
• Build, assemble, and disassemble components for fixtures and machines
• Verify dimensional accuracy of parts using standard inspection tools
• Fabricate new fixtures to improve productivity and reduce scrap/costs
• Maintain 5S standards to ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in a machine shop environment
• Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience using standard inspection tools
• Ability to produce precision parts according to strict specifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree from a two-year technical college in tool and die repair, fabrication, or design
• Experience creating CNC programs for mill and lathe machines
• Experience designing or improving fixtures to increase manufacturing efficiency
