About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and fabrication of Thrust Vector Control (TVC) systems and complex mechanical hardware
- Work with engineering personnel to design, fabricate, install, and operate components and special systems
- Build and operate complex mechanical systems including pressure (liquid/vapor/gas), cryogenic, hydraulic, and pneumatic test equipment
- Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and electrical schematics to carry out assignments
- Fabricate, modify, and assemble hardware and cables according to technical instructions
- Perform metal fabrication, welding, and tubing tasks such as cutting, flaring, threading, and bending
- Maintain laboratory test stands, equipment, and facilities through preventive maintenance and repairs
- Execute testing and leak checking of TVC hardware and pressure systems
- Operate shop equipment, forklifts, and man-lifts to perform work duties safely
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with technical training and 4 years of related experience, or an Associate's degree
- Experience in mechanical and electronic hardware assembly and testing
- Proficiency in metal fabrication and welding
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
- US Citizenship is required
- Must possess a STAR ID
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cable fabrication, routing, and testing
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Standards
- Experience performing troubleshooting of hardware installations
