Thrift Store Clerk

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers and donors in a positive, friendly, and courteous manner
• Process customer transactions accurately using cash and debit sales
• Sort, price, hang, and store incoming donations according to quality standards
• Maintain store appearance through tidying, restocking shelves, and creating attractive merchandise displays
• Assist with unloading donations and managing inventory turnover
• Adhere to all health and safety policies, including maintaining clear exits and cleaning common areas
• Monitor store activity to ensure security and safety for staff and customers

Requirements

• Completion of some high school coursework
• Experience in customer service or the processing/distribution of goods
• Proven experience with cash handling and operating cash registers
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent twisting, bending, and reaching
• Physical ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs frequently without assistance

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of product brands and retail trends
• Experience working in a computerized retail environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cooperative team
