About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and courteous customer service to shoppers and donors
- Process incoming donations by loading, unloading, sorting, packing, and baling
- Maintain store appearance by restocking shelves, hanging clothing, and cleaning floors
- Handle customer transactions accurately using cash and debit processing
- Monitor store security and ensure all products are priced according to policy
- Assist with seasonal organization of housewares, shoes, and clothing
- Maintain a safe environment by following OH&S regulations and clearing hazards
Requirements
- Completion of Grade 9 or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 months of related retail or warehouse experience
- Proven experience with cash handling and basic math skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Mandatory use of steel-toe safety boots
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks like bending and reaching
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using cash registers and debit/credit card processing machines
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays and Saturdays
