Third Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the safe and efficient operation of the engine room, both at sea and in port
• Act as a substitute for the Second Engineer during their absence or incapacity
• Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on technical installations
• Oversee compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) procedures, documents, and guidelines
• Contribute to the seaworthiness of the vessel and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
• Assist in preparing requests for spare parts and materials
• Supervise personnel performing work in the engine room or on deck
• Act correctly in emergency situations and follow established safety protocols

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of Flag State and international maritime rules and regulations
• Basic technical knowledge and practical skills in Marine Engineering
• Team player with good communication skills in English (oral and written)
• Basic knowledge of SMS procedures, documents, and guidelines
• Thorough knowledge and skills in inspection and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems
