About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and support software and control logic for system-level thermal controls and optimization solutions.
- Write, test, and maintain PLC/control code using Codesys and IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
- Develop supporting tools, scripts, and automation utilities using Python.
- Design and configure GUI/HMI interfaces, dashboards, and operator workflows.
- Implement control strategies for hydronic and liquid cooling systems, including CDU systems, pumps, chillers, and heat rejection equipment.
- Develop standard software modules and reusable control libraries to support scalable deployment.
- Support integration with third-party equipment using industrial communication protocols like Modbus TCP, BACnet, and MQTT.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate roadmap needs and customer feedback into technical requirements.
- Support factory testing, software validation, and remote troubleshooting during commissioning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Automation, Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechanical) or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience in industrial automation, HVAC controls, liquid cooling, or BMS.
- Strong programming capability with Codesys or similar PLC development environments.
- Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming languages, specifically Structured Text.
- Working knowledge of Python for scripting and data handling.
- Experience with HMI/GUI development or SCADA systems.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP, BACnet, MQTT).
- Ability to interpret control diagrams, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for customer sites and factory testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with chilled water systems, hydronic plants, or data center cooling infrastructure.
- Knowledge of plant-level optimization, energy efficiency strategies, and PID tuning.
- Experience with Ignition, Unify, or equivalent SCADA/HMI platforms.
- Proficiency with Git or other software version-control tools.
- Experience supporting FAT, SAT, or field commissioning activities.
