Thermal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to internal Vertiv functions
• Suggest product ideas and improvements to the group
• Support analysis through mathematical modeling, HVAC software, and simulation for New Product Development
• Verify simulations with lab testing to build confidence in calculated data
• Design HVAC controls, piping, and heat exchangers in collaboration with mechanical and electrical teams
• Perform lab testing of products
• Provide technical support and guidance to technicians and other engineers regarding thermal problems

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Thermal or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of engineering experience in DX and CW Refrigeration system development/design
• Comprehensive understanding of refrigeration systems for component selection and design from scratch
• Working knowledge of mechanical and thermal design concepts
• Experience with thermal design software such as Refprop, Icepak, Flotherm, or equivalent
• Basic mechanical CAD tools experience for thermal design review
• Ability to import models into CFD software
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English
