About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead development of HV compressor, HV heater and valves for refrigerant & coolant
- Define functional and performance requirements, DV/PV, and supplier strategy
- Interface with powertrain, power electronics, and vehicle integration teams for component packaging
- Benchmark competitive thermal components to define engineering specifications
- Create proof of concept demonstrations for integrated thermal management systems
- Work with suppliers on design evaluation and validation
- Coordinate and conduct hardware testing in the lab to verify functionality and reliability
- Manage simulation results and alignment with CAD
- Provide input for component specification and DFMEA
- Responsible for EMC/EMI performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University
- 5-10 years of experience in thermal management systems for HEV, PHEV, and EV
- Working knowledge of refrigerant, coolant, airflow, and high voltage components
- Hands-on experience with refrigerant components, sensors, valves, and fluid transport design
- Experience with automotive systems design, packaging, and assembly requirements
- In-plant and/or program/vehicle launch experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering specializing in refrigerant cycle, thermal dynamics, fluid mechanics, or power electronics
- Experience in heat pipe application
