Thermal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead validation and verification for automotive thermal systems at component, system, and vehicle levels
• Build in-house test capability including DAQ system strategy, airflow test stands, and climatic wind tunnels
• Develop DVP&R for vehicle thermal components and systems
• Lead vehicle climatic wind tunnel and field testing
• Benchmark competitive thermal components to define functional targets
• Manage data instrumentation, collection, and analysis
• Coordinate hardware testing in the lab to verify functionality and reliability
• Prepare and present test reports to cross-functional teams and leadership
• Provide input for component specifications, DFMEA, and technical design documents

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University
• 5-10 years of experience in thermal management systems for HEV, PHEV, or EV
• Proven experience in thermal system component and vehicle level testing
• Working knowledge of refrigerants, coolants, airflow, and high voltage components
• Experience with automotive systems design, packaging, and assembly requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering specializing in refrigerant cycles, thermodynamics, or fluid mechanics
• Hands-on experience with refrigerant components, sensors, valves, and fluid transport design
• Supervisory experience
