Thermal Engineer - Battery Systems

Responsibilities

• Perform state-of-the-art Thermal/CFD simulations to analyze pressure drop, thermal efficiency, and thermal propagation of battery packs
• Collaborate with US OEM customers and internal product development teams to drive new pack designs from concept to mass production
• Manage end-to-end analysis processes with offshore simulation teams to ensure technical quality and alignment with project objectives
• Prepare and present technical findings, design trade-offs, and recommended actions to the leadership team
• Provide simulation-driven design input to product design, manufacturing, test, supply chain, and quality teams
• Correlate simulation outcomes with physical test data and update models to improve accuracy
• Support DFMEA, design reviews, and the Test and Validation team in laying out DVP&R testing plans
• Document CFD modeling approaches and simulation results to assist design teams

Requirements

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in high voltage battery pack thermal design and simulations
• Proficiency in COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or other CAE tools
• Experience with design tools such as CATIA V6
• Strong foundation in engineering principles and complex problem-solving
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally

• Experience supporting the full product development life cycle for battery systems
