About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded software in C for automotive ECUs
- Architect and develop control systems for vehicle subsystems including refrigeration, coolant, and HVAC
- Review requirements and produce high-level functional specification designs
- Create test cases and scripts for unit test, SIL, and HIL environments
- Conduct software testing and calibration on vehicles
- Develop diagnostic interfaces for controllers to facilitate troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot functional problems across physical, electrical, and software domains
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields
- 1+ years of experience in controls development, integration, or calibration
- Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, and/or Python
- Knowledge of control theory principles and algorithm design (PID tuning, compensator design)
- Understanding of heat transfer and thermodynamics fundamentals
- Experience with firmware integration, calibration, and vehicle-level testing
- Willingness to travel up to 15%
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive or aerospace industry experience
- Familiarity with thermal and HVAC components (water pumps, AC compressors, expansion valves)
- Experience with requirements management tools like Jama or Doors
- Experience with issue tracking tools like Jira
- Experience with communication bus monitoring tools like Vector CANalyzer
- Experience with software calibration tools like Vector CANape or ETAS INCA
- Experience with automated testing frameworks like Pytest or OpenHTF
