About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple project teams of thermal and mechanical hardware engineers through all stages of development, including solution design, validation, tooling, and testing
- Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects to ensure alignment with organizational roadmaps
- Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners
- Review and evaluate designs for compliance with technology and development standards to improve product quality
- Provide domain-specific expertise and mechanical/thermal leadership to cross-organization projects
- Drive innovation and the integration of new technologies into the mechanical and thermal design organization
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staff members
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Thermal Fluids
- 10+ years of experience in thermal performance engineering or similar senior/principal roles
- Proficiency in CFD tools such as Flotherm XT, FLOEFD, or Icepak
- Experience with heat pipe, vapor chamber, fan, and fluidic/microfluidic designs
- Experience with CAD software including PTC Creo and SolidWorks
- Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, fluid dynamics, and thermal management
- Experience relating skin temperature, acoustics, and system performance
