About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic support and a safe, homelike residential environment for young people aged 12 to 17.
- Support young people in developing independent life skills, problem-solving abilities, and positive relationships.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, for children with disabilities or complex medical needs.
- Work within a dedicated team to support children who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect.
- Maintain an understanding of the importance of family and kinship connections for young people in placement.
Requirements
- Diploma in Community Services or a related field (or higher).
- Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate.
- Current driver's licence.
- Experience supporting children and young people with childhood trauma, disabilities, or complex behaviors.
- Ability to work a roster that includes afternoon, sleepover, and weekend shifts.
- Ability to clear probity checks, including National Criminal History, NSW Working with Children Check, and NSW Residential Care Workers Register.
