About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre- and post-operative patient care, including diagnostics
- Manage admission and discharge of patients on theatre days
- Administer medications according to NMC standards
- Maintain accurate record keeping in line with NMC guidelines
- Provide scrub assistance for clinical procedures
- Support consultants in delivering ophthalmic care
- Ensure clinical areas and equipment are prepared and compliant
- Participate in weekend and on-call rotas
- Maintain stock levels and manage theatre equipment daily
- Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act
- Undertake ALS training and cover nearby clinics when required
Requirements
- Current NMC registration
- Minimum 1 year’s post-registration experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Essential theatre scrub experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work across nearby clinics and meet service needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Ophthalmic experience
- Understanding of ophthalmic procedures
- Familiarity with private healthcare systems
