Theatres Scrub Nurse/Practitioner (Ophthalmic)

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-operative patient care, including diagnostics
• Manage admission and discharge of patients on theatre days
• Administer medications according to NMC standards
• Maintain accurate record keeping in line with NMC guidelines
• Provide scrub assistance for clinical procedures
• Support consultants in delivering ophthalmic care
• Ensure clinical areas and equipment are prepared and compliant
• Participate in weekend and on-call rotas
• Maintain stock levels and manage theatre equipment daily
• Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act
• Undertake ALS training and cover nearby clinics when required

Requirements

• Current NMC registration
• Minimum 1 year’s post-registration experience in a clinical or hospital setting
• Essential theatre scrub experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility to work across nearby clinics and meet service needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Ophthalmic experience
• Understanding of ophthalmic procedures
• Familiarity with private healthcare systems
