About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide scrub support for ophthalmic procedures in a sterile environment
- Deliver patient care throughout the surgical pathway from admission to discharge
- Administer medicines and maintain documentation in line with NMC guidelines
- Prepare, check and store theatre equipment appropriately
- Assist with inventory and stock control
- Adhere to clinical governance policies and report incidents
- Maintain confidentiality in line with data protection legislation
- Collaborate with the ophthalmic team and participate in ALS training
- Participate in on-call and weekend rotas
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin
- Previous scrub experience, ideally within ophthalmics
- Sound understanding of infection control and safe practice protocols
- Effective communication and teamworking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Commitment to professional development
